The brief of this two-week project was 'Explain & Expand', in which we were tasked with explaining a concept/idea through a graphic narrative.
I chose to bring light to the issue of birds going extinct due to human interference. The premise of the book is that it's the old journal of an explorer that's been donated to a museum. One of the museum conservators, an old friend of the explorer, decides to spread her message and adds scientific facts to the journal to prove what she was talking about.
The project was basically a collection of extinct birds, who's untimely demise was the product of humanity's need for expansion and dominion over the planet.
The pages were printed off after being created digitally and the scientific info was then stuck in manually. The book was then sewn together by hand.
