Uni Year 3 - Semester 1
This project was set in association with the Gianni de Conno Award for the International Contest for Illustrated Books without Words.
The specifications were a 14 spread book with 28.5 x 28.5cm pages.
I was inspired by British folklore and made a story book about a "hero's journey" to a new town. On the way he meets "monsters" in need and aids them with his apothecary skills. As thanks, they reward him with artefacts that he sells to buy his new shop.
The message is "if you are kind to others, your kindness will be reciprocated".
For the assessment, only four finalized spreads were required. I plan to finish this book for next year's competition.
